- With views of Snowdon, Moel Hebog and The Glyders (when it's clear!) and situated on the footpath up Cnicht, the Centre makes an ideal base for high and low level walks.
- Climbing and Abseiling
- A good selection of local crags within easy walking distance, or the weather-proof option of a nearby indoor climbing wall.
- Expedition Camping
- Gelli Iago makes an ideal base for lightweight expeditions, and is successfully used for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
- Orienteering
- The area around the Centre provides perfect terrain for orienteering and practice in navigation.
- Environmental Field Studies

- Ample opportunity for field studies such as Geography, Geology and Biology, both in the mountains of Snowdonia and on the coast.
- Archaeological Studies
- The area is steeped in history, from the remains of the original farmhouse (a 16th century longhouse) and the mill, to the numerous Bronze Age settlements in Cwm Gelli Iago.
- Sailing

- on nearby Llyn Gwynant and White Water Rafting at the National Centre in Trawsfynydd.
- Canoeing
- Canoeing on Llyn Dinas and Llyn Gwynant. White water can be found on the River Glaslyn near Beddgelert, also after heavy rainfall on the stream in the Nantmor valley below Gelli Iago.
- Mountain Biking
- Bike hire and plenty of trails only a 20 minute drive away, in the Beddgelert Forest.

- are always welcome, with Black Rock Sands only a half hour drive away.
